Hard Rock? Yes please!

Shannon's second trip to the Hard Rock Cafe culminated in a delicious devouring of a brownie hot fudge sundae.

We went to the park the other day and Shannon and a 4-year old we had never met before bonded.  They stood around hugging for minutes at a time...

 And spent some quality time relaxing together....

It was the first time Shannon has ever really spent any solid amount of time wanting to interact with another kid :)

3 Kind Men

I'm walking towards a crosswalk pushing Shannon in the stroller, when a man yells out his car window something I don't pay attention to/understand (I still struggle with the Aussie accent from time to time). And I must admit I thought it was probably something obscene as it is my experience that most things yelled out of passing car windows are.  Then waiting at the crosswalk, another man keeps looking around, then looking at me. I do my best to not to think anything of it.  Eventually he says, "I think that guy said you dropped something back there. Maybe a shoe."  And sure enough Shannon has ejected her shoe from the stroller. Then as I express my gratitude and turn to retrieve it, a third man give me the universal stop signal and says he'll get it for me. He jogs back to the shoe and brings it to me!
Thanks guys! I love when people surprise me and prove my less than flattering assumptions wrong.

Bridge to Brisbane

Gary and I ran our 3rd annual Bridge to Brisbane on Sunday.  Calling it that makes me feel like a bit of a fraud as we only ran the 5k (instead of the 10k) which means we did not in fact run over the namesake bridge.  But still, it was a good time. Shannon cooperated this year by sleeping through the whole run so we could actually run, and then she partook in the post-race fruit!

A new park.

We found a new playground/park so SUPER close to our place. We dont even take the stroller! Shannon can climb up and come down the slide all on her own. AND there is a cool tube to climb through where we get to peek at each other and make fun faces:)

Day done

It was fun....but alas, the daily picture taking portion of this blog is concluded. it has served it's purpose. Perhaps I will continue in some other form, but it's yet to be decided......one last photo that brings me great joy....
